I absolutely hate being disappointed by sequels, and thankfully, "King's Gambit" doesn't make me go there! It seamlessly picks up where "The Poets of Pevana" leaves off, and it pulled me right in.I'm not going to re-tell the story in this review, and I don't want to give any spoilers, so I'll just say that I liked it: the characters, the setting, the storyline. And the poetry...oh my goodness...it's hard to describe the powerful effect of the poetry in this book. It flows so naturally from the poets, and I really appreciate that the poems don't stop and scream, "Creative moment here, look at me, look at me!" Instead, the poetry is very authentic as it ties the events and emotions together and gives the book its heart. Very well done, and I'm looking forward to book #3 in the series!

King Gambit eBook Mark Nelson Reviews
Loved it
Read "The Poets of Pevana" first, as this is the sequel. The "good versus evil" continues, with descriptions that colorfully created the action in my mind. "King's Gambit" has a nice pace to it and is hard to set aside. It's absorbing and fun! I'm hoping there's an equally compelling next book!
