As far as zombie YA books go, this was pretty good. Very interesting take on the whole zombie apocolypse. Almost like a milder form of Alice from the Resident Evil franchise. There were some very touching parts of this book like the going through and classifying of the contents of the deads' pockets hence the title of the book. I have to say my favorite character in the whole thing was the Professor. There were times where I thought the main character was a whinny little brat but I can kind of understand that with all that had happened she was trying to have a sense of normality and also her secret would mean a life of imprisionment if found out too soon.

I really enjoyed this book. The characters were great together. I like how Hella got the village going on her own. I liked the different spin to this zombie book. I couldn't put this book down. I'm now in the process of reading the second book. I would recomend this book to all who enjoy zombie stories.
This was pretty fabulous. I can't wait for the next book. The main character is engaging and well fleshed out.
I am disturbed that the new zombies weren't put down before they could spread, hopefully Lily and crew take care of that and survive until they can all regroup. Loved it!
This book surprised me. It started out okay, but quickly grabbed my attention and kept it throughout the book. In fact, I ended up reading it in one day and then reading the sequel, too!

While I did come across a few grammar and spelling mistakes that could be cleared up, they were minor in the light of the storyline. I greatly enjoyed this and the sequel.
I'm not much of a zombie book lover but this book is so different it really kept my attention. Hella is awesome! Really good read, kept me interested all the way through. I just found out the second book was released a few days ago so I bought it and will probably stay up the rest of the night devouring it in one huge read. I can't wait to find out what happened to Lilly and the rest of the gang that were left behind and how Hella makes her escape and who she ends up with. I highly recommend this series even if your not a zombie fan, you'll be in for a nice surprise. This is not your typical zombie end of the world novel. Karen Carr has been added to my list of favorite writers!
I'm more then pleased with this book!!.It totally grabbed my attenchen right from the start.Hella Padge is one AWSOMELY funny yet odd(in a good way) Zombie killer,once bitten she thinks she already dead but instead she becomes a zombie exterminator!!..All though Hella has much to learn about her new ability,she soon beagens to master it!..So if u dig all the blood and guts horror with a wee bit of new love gitters topped off with zombie extermination.....Then this is the book for!!
I read all three books. Each one is better than the last. Book one has some slow spots and I almost didn't finish. If you can accept all the convenient solutions that make this post apocalyptic world not so bad. then you can enjoy these stories. It is more of a YA zombie novel. There is lots of longing and lusting, but no sex until 2/3 into book three there is a brief sex scene. Each book begins where the previous left off. The characters are fairly well developed considering there are so many. There is an epilogue to tie everything up.
If you're seeking a different sort of z-poc tale, I highly recommend this one. The characters impressed me, and I loved the idea of sorting the belongings of the deceased into separate baggies and labeling them. I definitely recommend this book to anyone who likes zombies and well-developed characters.
