This is clearly a book written by a teacher FOR teachers. Robin Blackwood's enthusiasm and love for teaching permeate every section of this exciting course built around Gordon Livingston's seminal book "Too Soon Old, Too Late Smart". The teacher's guide is precisely what a practitioner needs - a session-by-session "how to" guide highlighted by the author's personal experience. And what is so important is that it encourages members of the class to teach one another. This is truly a gift for all!
Having read Gordon Livingston's book, To Soon Old, Too Late Smart, and also given it to a number of friends, I am delighted to see someone provide for young people (and adults!) a first-rate course based on the book. Happiness sometimes is elusive, but it doesn't "just happen." It isn't simply a matter of luck. Happiness can be pursued in logical ways, which Robin Blackwood's curriculum makes clear. The curriculum is grounded in awareness that the choices we make in life are determinative of our happiness (or lack thereof), and that to choose to live with illusions about ourselves and the people in our lives is a recipe not for happiness, but frustration and disappointment. Working through Dr. Livingston's book chapter-by-chapter Ms Blackwood provides all the tools that will bring home its significance to the reader. Well done!
The world is a better place for people like Gordon Livingston and Robin Blackwood. It's a JOY (linguistically and intellectually) to have access to their books. I highly recommend everyone to purchase these materials.
